Old Navy by TB

It's had to argue with a $6 tee, but really, they look terrible. The necks get distorted really easily. There is a lot of bunching where the arms are sewn to the torso. The fabric itself feel pretty nice, but they do shrink up a fair amount if put in the dryer. There are lumps along the shoulder seam. The polo shirts are randomly sized. I tried a few larges on in the store. They fit nicely, but needed more length. I ordered large talls online. When they arrived, they were baggy everywhere, a completely different size from what the stores had. I've also tried on a few of their pants, like the linen pants last summer. They literally have *no* allowance for your butt. They're the cheapest construction possible, so there is no curve or excess material. So, you either get a gigantic size to fit around your buttocks, and cinch it up around the waist, or you get your normal size and look like a fool in hotpants, with a zipper that's about to rip open.

Gap by TB
My older GAP tees from around 2005 were excellent. Good weight, great neck and shoulder lines, no bunching, and reasonably trim around the midsection. Unfortunately, since about 2009, their tee shirts have really gone downhill. They're thin, downright flimsy. The neck ribbing doesn't lay as well. The arm length has been reduced. They shrink up much more than they used to, so my talls become normal length. I'm going to try Eddie Bauer again, and I've heard good things about Land's End. It's too bad, though, because the older GAP tees were absolutely perfect!

Some pants come in "Tall" and have 36" in inseam. These are hard to find so call before going to a store. However, very high quality pants. Also, the shirts run long because they do hemming, thus, they fit tall guys great.

H&M by Flavicon
I discovered this store over a year ago and I now buy pants here almost exclusively. It's important to know that this store tailors to more of a "euro hipster" look (in my opinion), so it may not be everybody's cup of tea. Every store is different too; they're selection depends on the in-store buyers and they stock the stores according to the perceived needs of the local demographics. If you live in a large city you may want to check out all the H&Ms to find your favorite one. I find pants that are slim, stylish, REALLY CHEAP, and have long inseams every time I go to mine in Chicago. The inseams on they're pants are rarely marked, so you have to dig around and try stuff on. I can usually find a pair of 34w pants with a 36 inseam. A must try for tall skinny men who want to look stylish on a budget.

J.Crew by cherdt
I purchased a pair of urban slim fit essential chinos from the J Crew web site recently with a 32" waist, 36" inseam. Most (possibly all) of their essential chinos are available with custom inseams up to 36" (or unhemmed). I was afraid the waist would be too low and I'd look like a hipster, but I think they look good. Their web site is a little annoying, though, in that it is not really possible to shop by size. They even have a Special Sizes -- Tall section, but it's a joke--none of the pants in the Tall section are available with an inseam greater than 34". To find a pair of pants with a longer inseam, you need to hunt around until the size select menu displays only the waist size--then you know you've found one. I wish they'd let you put in your measurements and then show you what they have.

I find a lot of good fitting clothes here. Takes some searching but worth it in the end.

L.L.Bean by rx7haze
I shop LL Bean constantly. They offer a MED Tall in many shirts. including knit long sleeved golf type shirts and button down collar. Good for work, but no real dress shirts unless an oxford will due.

They had many pairs of dress pants in my size and I received very helpful service. I will return to this store for dress pants next time I need them.

JCPenney by bernthebomb
I went to two JCPenney stores this weekend looking for khaki colored dress pants in 32x34. I found only one pair of dress pants in this size at the two stores combined and these were unfortunately to light of a color to work for my needs. When I went on their website, I was unable to find any pants that matched my measurements
