Offers many of their clothes in tall sizes starting at medium tall.

Most of their clothes don't really appeal to me, but I do buy two things from Banana Republic.

1) Cargo Shorts
Their 30 wast cargo shorts fit me perfectly (they go as low as 28!). I've never found a mainstream store that offers shorts with an 11+ inch inseam that still fit slim. These things are great. I'm fine paying $50 for shorts when they fit so well and are of great quality.

2) Jackets
I have their Modern short zip jacket in black in Medium Tall. It was still too wide at the waist for me, so I got it tailored in at the bottom and it fits great. I watch their outerwear category for other jackets I might be interested in.

Hi Andrew,

I love the site. Being a tall lanky guy, I struggle immensely trying to find clothes that fit well. Just from viewing your site I think my problems may have been solved.

Now, to my question. In my struggle to find clothing, I have considered just getting larger sizes and having them tailored. Have you tried this? I noticed you said you had your jacket tailored. How much does something like that cost? I'm under the impression that this type of tailoring could be very expensive and I'm hoping you could shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.

I think it was $20 or $25. Not cheap, but worth it in my opinion to have something that fits. Keep in mind I am living in a big city. I don't know how living in a smaller town would affect the pricing.

Shirts have cost me from $10 to $15 depending on if I get the arms tailored as well.
