I just received an order consisting of the following items and sizes:

3 Shirts (2 in White, 1 in Blue), "Super Stafford Extra Tall", Item number FC531-8650Q, 16.5" Neck, 38-39 Arm Length
1 Pair of "St. John's Bay???? Worry Free????? Relax-Fit Plain Front", Item number FC510-5937Q, 34 waist, Unfinished Length

I have to say that I was extremely satisfied with the pricing. They had a sale going on when I ordered, and I was able to get the pair of pants for $20 and each of the shirts for $26.

However, I'm very disappointed by the shirts. While they are true to fit in the neck and arm length, they are definitely BIG and tall in the back and chest. I felt like a stiff balloon all day at work wearing one of the shirts because there was so much extra material.

I have another criticism of the shirts that the material is very heavy weight and feels more like an industrial work shirt you might get from Aramark than a dress shirt, but that doesn't have a bearing on the actual sizing and fit. It was not clear from the web site that this material was so thick and stiff. After researching the cloth a bit more from the shirt description, I found that "Oxford" describes the type of fabric more than the fit. There's a good breakdown on different types of shirt fabric mean here: http://www.execshirts.com/dress-shirt.htm

Regrettably, I will be returning the entire order to a JCPenney store. Another point of note is that, while you can return your ordered items to the JCPenney stores, they will not refund shipping. Unlike smarter online vendors such as Amazon, JCPenney has not discovered the incentive of free shipping for customers and makes me hesitate ordering from them again.

I'll rate them 3 stars for at least having an area with actual selection for Extra Tall people, but two stars off for the apparent focus on BIG and tall people instead of us lanky folk.

One suggestion to others and myself as well: their custom shirts may be worth investigating, and at $55 with a return policy you can't go wrong. I went through the process as if I was going to order one, and it let me input all of my lanky measurements without complaint. If I do get a shirt or two in this process, I'll be sure to post my response.

I purchased one of the custom dress shirts from the jcpenney website and must say I am very pleased. It is easily my best fitting shirt. I chose the Pinpoint-Regular, input all of my sizing options, and 4-5 weeks later had my shirt. The quality of the clothing is what you would expect for $50 - clearly not high-end, but you're not going to be embarrassed wearing it. Also worth noting is that while it says "professional laundering recommended" I have ran it through the wash (cold water-hang dry) several times without incident.
My few small complaints: 1) The last button needs to be just a tad further down. This may have been my own fault by choosing the wrong torso-to-leg ratio, which I'm honestly not sure about. 2) The cuffs are a little too tight. Mind you this is not to the point where the shirt is uncomfortable or cutting off circulation, but I don't wear my watch with this shirt. I think just moving the buttons on the cuffs out a bit will solve this problem. Also, I wish the site had some better color/pattern fabric options, but hey, I'd rather have a well-fitting slightly off-color shirt than one that doesn't fit at all. I should qualify this last statement by saying that I am color-blind.
In conclusion, I will definitely buy another shirt here in the future. I didn't opt to create an account and save my measurements while ordering; this was a mistake, make sure you do this. If you're not in a hurry and want something that fits, I highly recommend you give this a shot. Good luck.

I went to two JCPenney stores this weekend looking for khaki colored dress pants in 32x34. I found only one pair of dress pants in this size at the two stores combined and these were unfortunately to light of a color to work for my needs. When I went on their website, I was unable to find any pants that matched my measurements
