It's had to argue with a $6 tee, but really, they look terrible. The necks get distorted really easily. There is a lot of bunching where the arms are sewn to the torso. The fabric itself feel pretty nice, but they do shrink up a fair amount if put in the dryer. There are lumps along the shoulder seam.

The polo shirts are randomly sized. I tried a few larges on in the store. They fit nicely, but needed more length. I ordered large talls online. When they arrived, they were baggy everywhere, a completely different size from what the stores had.

I've also tried on a few of their pants, like the linen pants last summer. They literally have *no* allowance for your butt. They're the cheapest construction possible, so there is no curve or excess material. So, you either get a gigantic size to fit around your buttocks, and cinch it up around the waist, or you get your normal size and look like a fool in hotpants, with a zipper that's about to rip open.

My older GAP tees from around 2005 were excellent. Good weight, great neck and shoulder lines, no bunching, and reasonably trim around the midsection.

Unfortunately, since about 2009, their tee shirts have really gone downhill. They're thin, downright flimsy. The neck ribbing doesn't lay as well. The arm length has been reduced. They shrink up much more than they used to, so my talls become normal length.

I'm going to try Eddie Bauer again, and I've heard good things about Land's End. It's too bad, though, because the older GAP tees were absolutely perfect!

Some pants come in "Tall" and have 36" in inseam. These are hard to find so call before going to a store. However, very high quality pants. Also, the shirts run long because they do hemming, thus, they fit tall guys great.
